Yes. The Lake Hut is stocked with Brown, Rainbow & Brook trout.
The Lake in front of the Lake Hut is strictly fly fishing only and catch & release.
There are no exceptions to this rule as all other methods result in large, unsustainable losses to the lakes trout population.
Guests of the Lake Hut have exclusive use of the Lake Hut lake during their stay. No licence is required to fish from the lake in front of the Hut, however, if guests wish to also fish the river, (100m from the Hut), they do legally require a licence. (Note: The small section of river immediately in front of the River Hut is for the exclusive use of River Hut guests).
Licences can be purchased online at www.snowymountainsfishing.com.au at a cost of $7 (3 days) or $14 (1 week). Children under 16 years of age do not require a licence.
